Battlefield 6 Will Be Free to Play Across All Platforms Starting June 30
EA and Battlefield Studios have announced another limited-time opportunity for players to jump into Battlefield 6 without purchasing the game. Beginning June 30, the hit first-person shooter will be available for free on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, giving newcomers a chance to experience the latest content from the ongoing Season 3 update.

Unlike a traditional demo, the free trial offers access to a substantial portion of Battlefield 6's multiplayer experience. Players will be able to take part in several popular game modes, battle across multiple maps, and try the newest weapons and gameplay additions introduced in recent updates. Progress earned during the event, including experience points, unlocks, and weapon customization, will carry over if players decide to purchase the full game later.
To join the event, players simply need to download the free Battlefield REDSEC client, which serves as the gateway to Battlefield 6's free trial content. Once installed, the game unlocks access to the temporary multiplayer event without requiring an upfront purchase. EA hopes the promotion will introduce more players to the franchise while showcasing the improvements made since launch.
The free access period also arrives alongside fresh Season 3 content, including new maps, returning multiplayer modes, additional weapons, and gameplay improvements. With Battlefield 6 continuing to receive regular updates, this event gives both returning veterans and first-time players an excellent opportunity to see how the game has evolved. As competition among multiplayer shooters remains intense, EA is clearly aiming to attract a larger audience by removing the entry barrier, even if only for a limited time.
