1666: Amsterdam Developers Celebrate Steam Next Fest Success and Thank Players for Thousands of Bug Reports
Following a successful appearance at Steam Next Fest, the developers of 1666: Amsterdam have shared a heartfelt message thanking the community for its overwhelming support. Panache Digital Games revealed that the game's Prologue demo ranked among the Top 50 most-played demos during the festival, standing out in a record-breaking event that featured 4,931 playable demos across every genre. The studio also praised players for submitting detailed bug reports and constructive feedback, which will directly influence future development.

According to the developers, thousands of players explored the Prologue, streamed gameplay, shared reviews, and reported technical issues ranging from minor visual glitches to gameplay bugs. Rather than viewing these reports as criticism, the team described them as an essential part of the development process. Every piece of feedback is now being analyzed to improve stability, polish gameplay mechanics, and refine the overall player experience before the game's Early Access launch.
The studio also highlighted the growing popularity of 1666: Amsterdam, which has rapidly attracted attention since its reveal at Summer Game Fest 2026. The game's blend of historical fiction, supernatural mystery, and narrative-driven action has helped it build a strong community in a short period of time. Panache emphasized that player suggestions collected during Steam Next Fest will help shape future updates, with improvements planned for exploration, combat, user interface, and technical performance.
Creative director Patrice Désilets, best known as the creator of the original Assassin's Creed, has repeatedly stated that community feedback plays a central role in the project's development philosophy. By openly encouraging bug reports and listening to player suggestions, Panache aims to deliver a more polished experience when 1666: Amsterdam enters Early Access later this year. After a strong Steam Next Fest showing and a positive reception from players, the studio says it is more motivated than ever to continue improving one of 2026's most anticipated narrative-driven action games.
