Rumors surrounding The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess and The Wind Waker have resurfaced once again, with a well-known Nintendo insider claiming that Twilight Princess may finally be heading to Nintendo Switch 2. According to the latest reports, Nintendo is reportedly exploring a new version of the beloved adventure, while the long-rumored return of The Wind Waker appears to have stalled. As with all leaks, Nintendo has not officially confirmed any of these claims.

The information comes from insider Nash Weedle, who recently stated that he has heard increasingly strong reports about a revised version of Twilight Princess being in development. Rather than a simple port of the Wii U HD edition, the project is rumored to include additional enhancements that would better take advantage of the Switch 2's hardware. At the same time, Weedle claimed he has heard very little about The Wind Waker, suggesting that any potential remaster may currently be in development limbo.

These rumors have reignited speculation because Nintendo has a history of holding completed remasters until the right release window. Former Nintendo marketing staff have previously explained that the company sometimes keeps finished projects in reserve to fill gaps between major first-party releases. With The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake already confirmed for Switch 2, many fans believe another classic Zelda title could arrive in the following years to maintain the series' momentum.

For now, however, players should approach the reports with caution. Nintendo has yet to announce Twilight Princess or The Wind Waker for Switch 2, and no official release schedule has been revealed. Until the company shares its future Zelda roadmap, the rumored return of these GameCube classics remains speculation. Even so, the latest insider claims have renewed hope that one of the franchise's most beloved adventures could finally make its long-awaited comeback on Nintendo's newest console.
