Gothic 1 Remake Developers Release Emergency Hotfix After Patch Introduces New Issues
Alkimia Interactive has released an emergency hotfix for Gothic 1 Remake after the recent Patch 1.0.3 unintentionally introduced several new technical issues. The studio acted quickly following player reports, deploying fixes for PC users through Steam's publictesting branch while continuing work on a broader update for all platforms.

The emergency update resolves multiple dialogue-related bugs affecting important NPCs, including Melvin, Raven, Stone, and several other characters whose conversations could fail to trigger correctly after the previous patch. Developers confirmed that these fixes are already available in the testing branch and are expected to be included in the next public update once validation is complete.
Patch 1.0.3, released earlier this week, focused on improving overall game stability by fixing crashes, performance problems, quest blockers, NPC behavior, audio glitches while swimming, crossbow animations, and various interface issues. However, shortly after its release, players discovered several new problems, prompting Alkimia Interactive to prepare the hotfix. Some PlayStation 5 users also reported sound-related issues following the update, which the studio says it is actively investigating.
Alkimia Interactive thanked the community for rapidly submitting bug reports and encouraged players to continue sharing feedback as development progresses. The studio emphasized that improving stability and polishing the remake remain top priorities, with additional fixes planned in future updates. The swift rollout of an emergency hotfix demonstrates the developers' commitment to responding quickly to post-launch issues while ensuring Gothic 1 Remake continues to receive regular support.
