Fan Is Building a Website Comparing Real-World Kingdom Come: Deliverance II Locations With Their In-Game Counterparts
A dedicated Kingdom Come: Deliverance II fan is developing a unique website that allows players to compare the game's historically inspired locations with their real-life counterparts. Using a 360-degree camera, the creator traveled across the Czech Republic to photograph the regions of Kuttenberg (Kutná Hora) and Sasau (Sázava), capturing more than 200 panoramic images of places recreated by Warhorse Studios. Each real-world panorama is carefully aligned with an in-game screenshot, allowing visitors to seamlessly switch between reality and the virtual world.
The project is already nearing completion for the Kuttenberg region, where approximately 165 locations have been documented. Work has also begun on the Sasau area, with another 70 to 100 historical sites expected to be added later. The creator explained that additional time is being spent editing the photographs, removing camera equipment from the images, refining color correction, and perfectly matching the viewpoints from the game.
The website will be completely free to use and will not include advertisements. In addition to side-by-side comparisons, the developer plans to include interactive maps, real-world coordinates, and walking routes to help fans visit the historic locations themselves. Although the project is unofficial, representatives from Warhorse Studios have already responded positively, praising the initiative and confirming that they have no objections to the use of game screenshots and maps for this non-commercial fan project.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance II has earned widespread praise for faithfully recreating medieval Bohemia, with many of its castles, villages, monasteries, and landscapes based on real historical locations in the modern-day Czech Republic. The upcoming comparison website aims to showcase just how accurately Warhorse Studios recreated these places, offering players a fascinating way to explore the connection between history and one of the most authentic medieval RPGs ever made.
