Serious Sim Opens Playtest Sign-Ups for Cozy Cleaning Adventure Clean Start
Developer Serious Sim has officially opened registrations for upcoming playtests of its relaxing narrative cleaning game Clean Start, giving players an opportunity to experience the title before its planned Q4 2026 launch on PC and Mac. The studio confirmed that testing sessions will take place in the months leading up to release, with interested players able to apply through the game's official community channels.

Unlike traditional cleaning simulators, Clean Start combines satisfying organization gameplay with an emotional, story-driven narrative. Players step into the role of Lena, a young woman who has moved abroad for work and earns a living cleaning other people's homes. As each apartment is restored, hidden objects, conversations, and environmental details gradually reveal the personal stories, struggles, and secrets of the people who live there. The developers say the game is inspired by real experiences of economic migration and aims to tell a heartfelt, optimistic story about building a new life in a foreign country.
The game emphasizes a calm and relaxing experience, featuring no time limits, no fail states, and no stressful gameplay. Alongside cleaning and organizing rooms, players can decorate Lena's own apartment using items discovered during their jobs, while different choices and observations influence conversations with clients and unlock unique outcomes. A free demo is already available on Steam, allowing players to sample the core gameplay before joining the playtest program.
According to Serious Sim, the upcoming playtests are intended to gather community feedback and fine-tune gameplay ahead of release. Clean Start is scheduled to launch in Q4 2026, published by Amplified Games, and supports 16 languages, including English and Ukrainian. With its blend of relaxing gameplay, environmental storytelling, and emotional themes, the title is shaping up to be one of the most distinctive cozy simulation games arriving later this year.
