War Thunder Infantry Enters Final Testing — 128-Player Battles, Vehicles, and Massive New Battlefield Revealed
War Thunder is preparing for the final phase of infantry testing, and it could be the biggest step yet toward the mode's full release. Gaijin Entertainment has announced the third closed beta test for War Thunder Infantry, introducing a gigantic new battlefield, drivable transport vehicles, and 64-vs-64 battles with up to 128 players—the largest matches ever seen in the game's history.
The centerpiece of the update is Kivu, a brand-new map set in Central Africa that is roughly four times larger than previous infantry locations. To support battles on this scale, Gaijin has optimized its servers and introduced several new mechanics, including forward spawn points at captured objectives and a dedicated five-point warfare mode. Players will also be able to use light transport vehicles capable of carrying up to five soldiers, allowing squads to reach key objectives much faster and coordinate large-scale assaults.
The test also expands the available military hardware. U.S. and Soviet forces receive updated weapons, equipment, and authentic character models designed specifically for the Kivu setting. Heavy support vehicles such as the M1A2 SEP V2, T-90M, AH-64A Apache, Mi-28N, LAV-AD, and 2S6 Tunguska will be available alongside modern assault rifles, machine guns, sniper rifles, and other infantry equipment. Gaijin has additionally refined marker visibility, UAV mechanics, movement balance, and overall gameplay based on feedback from previous beta phases.
According to Gaijin, this is the last major testing stage before the official launch of War Thunder Infantry. If the new systems perform well under real player load, features such as 128-player battles, transport vehicles, and large-scale battlefield mechanics are expected to become core parts of the final release. With its combination of infantry combat, tanks, helicopters, and massive multiplayer warfare, War Thunder Infantry is shaping up to become one of the most ambitious updates in the game's history.
