Gothic 1 Remake Fixes Major Audio Problems on All Platforms — Developers Release Emergency Hotfix
Alkimia Interactive and THQ Nordic have released an emergency hotfix for Gothic 1 Remake, resolving the widespread audio issues that appeared after the recent Patch 1.0.3. The update is now available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, with the developers confirming that the most serious sound-related problems have been fixed across all platforms.

The audio bugs emerged shortly after Patch 1.0.3 launched, with players reporting disappearing sound effects, overlapping dialogue, muted audio, and inconsistent environmental sounds during gameplay. According to Alkimia Interactive, the new hotfix resolves an audio channel accumulation issue that could eventually disable all game audio, while also fixing problems where sounds attached to the player were incorrectly affected by the game's sound occlusion system.
The studio thanked the community for its detailed bug reports, explaining that player feedback helped identify the source of the issue much faster. Developers also encouraged anyone who encounters additional technical problems to continue submitting reports through the official bug reporting system, confirming that further updates remain in development.
The hotfix follows Patch 1.0.3, which already introduced dozens of improvements, including quest fixes, AI enhancements, performance optimizations, and gameplay balancing. With the audio problems now resolved on every platform, Gothic 1 Remake continues to receive active post-launch support as Alkimia Interactive works to further polish one of 2026's most successful RPG remakes.
