Battlefield 6 Brings Back Naval Warfare — Season 4 Trailer Reveals Massive Sea Battles, Wake Island, and New Vehicles
Battlefield Studios has officially unveiled the first gameplay trailer for Battlefield 6 Season 4: Naval Warfare, confirming the long-awaited return of large-scale naval combat. Launching on July 21, the new season introduces warships, attack boats, dynamic ocean waves, new weapons, and some of the largest multiplayer battlefields ever created for the franchise.
The centerpiece of the update is Tsuru Reef, described by the developers as the largest Battlefield map to date. The sprawling battlefield combines open ocean, tropical islands, beaches, and military installations, allowing players to fight seamlessly across land, sea, and air. Dynamic wave physics will affect naval movement and combat, while new vehicles—including armed patrol boats and ships equipped with heavy artillery—add another layer of tactical gameplay. Homing torpedoes and additional naval-focused weapons also make their debut this season.
Season 4 also marks the return of one of the franchise's most iconic maps: Wake Island. Rebuilt from the ground up for Battlefield 6, the classic battlefield has been expanded with modern visuals, enhanced destruction, larger combat spaces, and full support for the new naval warfare mechanics. While Tsuru Reef will be available at launch, Wake Island is scheduled to arrive later during the season as part of a major mid-season update.
The gameplay trailer highlights Battlefield's signature combined-arms experience, featuring dogfights between fighter jets, helicopter assaults, amphibious landings, armored vehicle combat, and massive clashes across the open sea.
