Resident Evil Requiem Fans Are Already Bringing Back Leon's Cut Joke — Modders Refuse to Let the One-Liner Die

The Resident Evil Requiem modding community is already working to restore Leon S. Kennedy's deleted one-liner, just days after voice actor Nick Apostolides revealed that Capcom had cut one of his favorite recorded jokes from the final game. The line—"You've been a real itsy-bitsy pain in my ass"—was originally meant to play during Leon's battle against the Titan Spinner, but never made it into the finished release.

The idea of bringing the dialogue back gained momentum almost immediately after Apostolides performed the missing line during an interview. Fans quickly pointed out that the actor had effectively provided a clean recording, making it technically possible for experienced modders to recreate the moment in-game. Several community members have already expressed interest in producing a mod that restores the joke to the boss fight, with many arguing that Leon's trademark sense of humor feels incomplete without it.

The project wouldn't be unusual for the Resident Evil Requiem modding scene, which has already produced numerous gameplay tweaks, visual enhancements, character swaps, and quality-of-life improvements since launch. Although no finished restoration mod has been released yet, the community is confident that adding the deleted voice line is only a matter of time.

Whether Capcom intentionally removed the joke to preserve the game's darker horror atmosphere or simply decided it didn't fit the final pacing remains unknown. However, the overwhelming fan response shows there's still strong demand for Leon's classic one-liners. If the modding community succeeds, players may soon be able to experience Resident Evil Requiem exactly as Apostolides originally imagined—with one extra joke that almost made it into the final game.
