Roblox Introduces AI-Powered Build Tool for Creating Games on Mobile

Roblox has unveiled Build, a new AI-powered creation tool that allows users to design games directly from their smartphones using simple text prompts. Integrated into the Roblox mobile app, the feature can generate a playable game prototype in seconds without requiring programming knowledge. By making game development accessible on mobile devices, Roblox aims to lower the barrier for aspiring creators and help more users turn their ideas into interactive experiences.

With Build, creators simply describe the type of game they want to make, and the AI automatically generates a basic version complete with environments, gameplay systems, characters, and visual elements. Users can then modify the generated experience, test it with friends, or continue refining it before publishing it on Roblox. The new tool shares technology with Roblox Studio, allowing projects started on mobile to be expanded later using the platform's full development suite.

The company says Build is powered by a combination of proprietary and open-source AI models that streamline many aspects of game creation. Roblox believes this approach will encourage more people to experiment with development, even if they have no previous experience. At the same time, experienced creators will be able to use the tool as a fast prototyping system before moving to more advanced editing tools available in Roblox Studio.

The public alpha for Build is scheduled to begin later this month in New Zealand, with broader availability expected to follow as testing progresses.
