Euro Truck Simulator 2 Update 1.61 Modernizes Schwarzmüller Trailer Pack After a Decade

SCS Software has unveiled another feature coming in Euro Truck Simulator 2's upcoming Update 1.61, revealing a complete refresh of the licensed Schwarzmüller Trailer Pack. Nearly ten years after the DLC first launched in 2016, the developers are bringing its trailers in line with Schwarzmüller's modern real-world lineup, introducing redesigned models and upgraded accessories while preserving the pack's original functionality.

The first trailer to receive a full overhaul is the low loader, which has been rebuilt from the ground up using the latest reference material provided by Schwarzmüller. The update includes a more detailed exterior, improved components, and a refreshed selection of accessories that better reflect the manufacturer's current designs. SCS Software confirmed that the changes are purely visual, meaning trailer specifications, cargo capacity, and gameplay balance will remain unchanged.

According to the developers, this is only the beginning of a broader modernization effort for the trailer pack. More Schwarzmüller trailers will receive updated models in future releases as the studio continues to refresh older DLC content. The original Schwarzmüller Trailer Pack was the first officially licensed trailer expansion for Euro Truck Simulator 2, making it one of the game's most recognizable add-ons and a popular choice among long-time players.

Although Update 1.61 does not yet have a release date, SCS Software continues to preview its new features through developer blogs and the ongoing experimental beta. The redesigned Schwarzmüller trailers are expected to arrive as a free update for everyone who already owns the DLC, further extending the lifespan of one of Euro Truck Simulator 2's oldest expansions.
