The fan-made GTA 4 RTX Remix project continues to transform Rockstar's 2008 classic into a modern visual showcase. Modder kapibos has released a substantial update introducing a new collection of 4K high-polygon models, dramatically improving the appearance of environmental objects throughout Liberty City. The latest release further enhances one of the most ambitious community remaster projects currently in development.

The update replaces more than 60 in-game props with completely rebuilt high-detail models created using Blender and Substance 3D Painter. Everyday objects such as street furniture, barriers, signs, fences, and other environmental assets now feature significantly higher polygon counts and physically based 4K textures, creating a much more realistic city while preserving the original artistic style of Grand Theft Auto IV.

The new asset pack is designed specifically for the RTX Remix Compatibility Mod, which already brings path tracing, advanced lighting, ray-traced reflections, DLSS support, and numerous graphical improvements to the game. Recent updates to the RTX Remix project have also introduced enhanced rain effects, improved shadows, redesigned chain-link fences, anti-culling optimizations, and various performance improvements, making the unofficial remaster more polished than ever before.

Although the project remains a work in progress, it continues to receive frequent updates from the modding community. More locations and objects are expected to receive the same high-quality treatment in future releases, bringing Grand Theft Auto IV even closer to a full modern remaster. For PC players with powerful RTX graphics cards, the combination of RTX Remix, path tracing, and the new 4K high-poly asset pack delivers one of the most impressive visual overhauls ever created for a Rockstar title.
