Overwatch x YOASOBI Gameplay Trailer Reveals Stunning Anime-Inspired Skins and Original Music
Blizzard Entertainment has officially unveiled the gameplay trailer for its highly anticipated Overwatch x YOASOBI collaboration, giving players a first look at one of the game's most stylish crossover events yet. Inspired by the world-famous Japanese music duo, the limited-time event introduces six exclusive Legendary skins, vibrant neon visuals, an original song titled "Orion," and a brand-new animated story centered around some of Overwatch's most beloved heroes. The collaboration launches on June 30 and will be available for a limited time.

The gameplay trailer highlights new premium skins for Kiriko, Genji, Hanzo, Juno, Mizuki, and Anran, each featuring unique visual effects, glowing hard-light elements, and colorful J-pop-inspired designs. Blizzard has blended Overwatch's futuristic aesthetic with YOASOBI's signature artistic style, creating one of the most visually distinctive cosmetic collections the game has received. Several of the new emotes also feature choreography and music created specifically for the collaboration, giving players more than just new character appearances.
Unlike previous crossover events, Overwatch x YOASOBI also expands the game's lore. The collaboration includes a new animated music video and an original short story titled "The Fall of a Sparrow," exploring the relationship between Kiriko, Genji, and Hanzo while revisiting the ongoing conflict surrounding the Shimada clan. The original song "Orion", composed by YOASOBI exclusively for the event, serves as the emotional centerpiece of the collaboration and reinforces Blizzard's growing focus on narrative-driven seasonal content.
The Overwatch x YOASOBI event runs through July 20, offering players a limited opportunity to unlock the exclusive cosmetics before they leave the in-game shop. By combining anime-inspired visuals, original music, expanded lore, and premium character skins, Blizzard has created one of Overwatch's most ambitious crossover events to date. With the gameplay trailer already generating excitement across the community, the collaboration is shaping up to be one of the standout live-service events of 2026.
