Ubisoft Reveals Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced Xbox Series X|S Performance Modes Ahead of Launch
Ubisoft has officially unveiled the technical specifications for Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced on Xbox Series X|S, confirming multiple graphics modes, ray tracing support, and performance improvements across Microsoft's current-generation consoles. The highly anticipated remake launches on July 9, 2026, and the newly released details give players a clear idea of what to expect depending on their hardware.

On Xbox Series X, players will have access to three display modes. Performance Mode targets 60 FPS, Balanced Mode runs at 40 FPS on compatible 120 Hz displays, and Quality Mode delivers 30 FPS with enhanced visual effects. Ubisoft confirmed that all modes render at upscaled 4K resolution, while ray-traced global illumination is enabled across every preset. The Balanced and Quality modes also include more advanced ray-traced reflections, offering improved lighting and environmental realism throughout the Caribbean.
The Xbox Series S version has also received meaningful upgrades despite its more modest hardware. Ubisoft confirmed support for 60 FPS gameplay, alongside improved textures, faster loading times, HDR, Dolby Atmos audio, and optimized ray-traced lighting. While the Series S offers fewer graphical options than the Series X, the studio says it still delivers a smooth experience while preserving the remake's most important visual enhancements.
Built from the ground up using the latest version of Ubisoft's Anvil Engine, Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced introduces rebuilt character models, modernized combat and stealth mechanics, dynamic weather, enhanced naval gameplay, and new story content while preserving the original adventure of Edward Kenway. With support for 60 FPS, advanced ray tracing, and multiple graphics presets across the Xbox Series family, Ubisoft aims to deliver the definitive version of one of the franchise's most beloved games when it launches on July 9 for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC.
