Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced is shaping up to be one of Ubisoft’s biggest projects in recent years, and a new report reveals just how much effort has gone into the highly anticipated remake. According to industry sources, 15 Ubisoft studios from around the world collaborated on the game's development, highlighting the enormous scale of the project ahead of its launch on July 9.

The report states that Ubisoft assembled teams from studios across Montreal, Quebec, Singapore, Bordeaux, Kyiv, Sofia, Shanghai, Bucharest, Chengdu, Da Nang, India, the Philippines, and several other locations to help develop the remake. This level of collaboration is comparable to the production of Assassin’s Creed Shadows, demonstrating that Ubisoft considers Black Flag Resynced a major AAA release rather than a simple graphical remaster.

The extensive development effort has allowed Ubisoft to completely rebuild the 2013 classic using the latest Anvil Engine while introducing new story content, additional missions, modernized parkour, improved stealth mechanics, enhanced naval combat, and expanded endgame activities. Developers have emphasized that the remake stays faithful to the original adventure starring Edward Kenway, while adding meaningful gameplay improvements expected from a modern release.

Despite Ubisoft's recent restructuring, which resulted in the closure of some studios and layoffs across parts of the company, Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced remained a top priority throughout production. The large number of participating teams reflects Ubisoft's commitment to delivering one of the franchise's most ambitious remakes. With the game now confirmed for release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, fans won't have to wait much longer to return to the Caribbean and experience the legendary pirate adventure with modern technology and expanded content.
