Classic Cyberpunk RPG Neuro Hunter Finally Launches on Steam After 21 Years
The cult cyberpunk action RPG Neuro Hunter has officially arrived on Steam, more than 21 years after its original release. Developed by Media Art and originally launched for PC in 2005, the game is now available on Valve's digital platform through publisher Strategy First, giving modern players an easy way to experience the classic title on current hardware. The Steam release includes support for multiple languages and compatibility improvements for modern systems.

Often compared to games like Deus Ex and System Shock, Neuro Hunter combines first-person shooting with RPG mechanics in a dystopian cyberpunk setting. Players take on the role of Hunter, a computer specialist trapped in a dangerous underground world after a mission goes wrong. Throughout the adventure, they explore interconnected locations, complete quests, upgrade skills, and battle enemies while uncovering the secrets behind a mysterious conspiracy.
The Steam version preserves the original gameplay while making the title more accessible for a new audience. Although no major graphical overhaul has been introduced, the re-release allows longtime fans to revisit the game without relying on legacy hardware, while newcomers can discover a lesser-known RPG that gained a cult following for its ambitious mix of action and role-playing systems.
The arrival of Neuro Hunter on Steam reflects the growing trend of bringing classic PC games back to digital storefronts. More than two decades after its debut, the cyberpunk RPG has another opportunity to reach players and preserve its place in gaming history through an official modern release.
