Once Human Finally Comes to PS5 and Xbox Series — Console Release Date Is Official
After months of anticipation, Once Human is finally making the leap to consoles. Developer Starry Studio has officially confirmed that the hit free-to-play survival game will launch on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on August 25, 2026. Alongside the release date announcement, the studio revealed several major features that will debut with the console version, making it far more than a simple port.

One of the biggest additions is a brand-new first-person mode, giving players an entirely different way to explore the game's post-apocalyptic open world. The console launch will also feature full cross-play and cross-progression, allowing players on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S to play together and seamlessly continue their progress across every supported platform using a single account.
To celebrate the announcement, Starry Studio has opened pre-orders and wishlists on PlayStation Store and Xbox Store, with exclusive platform-specific cosmetic reward packs available for early adopters. Existing PC players won't need to start over, as their characters and progression can be transferred directly to consoles thanks to the cross-progression system.
Originally released on PC in 2024, Once Human quickly became one of Steam's biggest survival hits thanks to its unique blend of base building, supernatural enemies, and multiplayer exploration. With the addition of console support, first-person gameplay, and full cross-platform functionality, the August 25 launch marks the beginning of the game's biggest expansion yet and opens the world of Once Human to millions of new players.
