Alix Wilton Regan, the new voice of Lara Croft in Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis, says the upcoming adventure will embrace the character's classic personality by bringing back her signature dry British humor, confidence, and charisma. In a recent interview, the actress explained that the development team wanted to capture the spirit of the original games while blending it with the emotional depth of the modern Survivor trilogy. Regan added that the portrayal was also inspired by Angelina Jolie's iconic performance in the early Tomb Raider films.

According to Regan, Legacy of Atlantis presents a slightly younger and more optimistic Lara, but one who already possesses the intelligence, courage, and sharp wit that longtime fans associate with the character. She said the writers intentionally leaned into Lara's unmistakable British sense of humor, describing it as one of the defining qualities that helped make the heroine a gaming icon. The goal was to create a version that feels familiar while remaining believable for modern audiences.

The actress also revealed that Crystal Dynamics drew inspiration from multiple eras of the franchise, including the original trilogy, the Survivor games voiced by Camilla Luddington, and Angelina Jolie's portrayal on the big screen. Rather than replacing previous interpretations, Regan explained that the team wanted to combine the strongest elements of each version into a Lara Croft who respects the series' legacy while moving it forward.

Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis is currently scheduled to launch in February 2027 for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S, and Nintendo Switch 2. With its focus on classic exploration, puzzles, and a more confident Lara Croft, the remake aims to celebrate the franchise's roots while introducing the legendary adventurer to a new generation of players.
