Sponge Break Announced as a New Co-op Adventure Game for PC
Publisher Balor Games and developer Goose Byte have officially announced Sponge Break, a new cooperative adventure game coming to PC via Steam. Designed for one to four players, the game puts teams in control of animated kitchen sponges attempting to escape a dangerous household filled with oversized hazards, physics-based obstacles, and environmental puzzles. The announcement was accompanied by the debut gameplay trailer, while playtest registrations are now open ahead of release.

Rather than focusing on combat, Sponge Break emphasizes teamwork, exploration, and creative problem-solving. Players must build and steer improvised rafts, float through flooded kitchens, avoid deadly appliances, and combine their abilities to overcome a variety of environmental challenges. The physics-driven gameplay encourages cooperation, with each expedition offering multiple ways to progress depending on how the team works together.
The colorful visual style is paired with interactive environments where everyday household objects become giant obstacles. From slippery countertops to overflowing sinks, every area is designed to encourage experimentation and communication between players. Goose Byte says the game supports both solo play and cooperative sessions, making it accessible whether players prefer to tackle the adventure alone or with friends.
Sponge Break does not yet have a release date, but it is currently confirmed for PC through Steam. With its lighthearted premise, cooperative gameplay, and physics-based challenges, the project aims to offer a fresh multiplayer experience for fans of creative co-op adventure games.
