Developer Pocketpair has announced that Palworld has officially surpassed 40 million players worldwide, setting a new milestone just days before the game's highly anticipated Version 1.0 launch. The achievement comes after more than 2.5 years in Early Access, during which the survival adventure steadily expanded through major content updates, new Pals, gameplay features, and platform releases. To celebrate the occasion, the studio also published a special video looking back at the game's journey.

Originally released in January 2024, Palworld quickly became one of Steam's biggest success stories, combining open-world survival mechanics with creature collecting, base building, and cooperative multiplayer. The game later launched on PlayStation 5 and remained available through Xbox Game Pass, helping it reach an even larger global audience. Pocketpair thanked players for their continued support, describing the community as the driving force behind the game's rapid growth.

The milestone arrives just before the release of Version 1.0, which is scheduled to launch on July 10. According to the developers, the update will introduce new regions, additional Pals, fresh equipment, expanded gameplay systems, and numerous quality-of-life improvements, marking the transition from Early Access to the game's full commercial release. Pocketpair has described it as the biggest update in Palworld's history.

Reaching 40 million players before leaving Early Access highlights Palworld's remarkable success in the survival genre. With Version 1.0 now on the horizon, Pocketpair hopes to build on that momentum by delivering its most complete and ambitious version of the game yet.
