Planet Zoo 2 Gameplay Trailer Showcases Aquariums, Habitat Building, and Staff Management

Frontier Developments has released a new gameplay trailer for Planet Zoo 2, offering the most detailed look yet at the upcoming zoo management simulator. The video highlights several major additions, including fully customizable aquariums, expanded habitat construction tools, and deeper staff management systems. Players will be able to design complex animal environments for aquatic, terrestrial, and flying species while balancing guest satisfaction and conservation goals.

One of the biggest new features is the introduction of aquariums and aviaries, allowing players to care for fully aquatic animals and birds for the first time in the series. The trailer also demonstrates improved enclosure construction, giving players greater freedom to shape habitats that better reflect each species' natural environment. Water simulation has been upgraded as well, with realistic waves and ripples reacting dynamically to animal movement.

Beyond construction, Planet Zoo 2 expands the management side of the experience. Zoo staff now require training, morale management, and more careful assignment of responsibilities as parks grow larger and more complex. Frontier has also enhanced animal behaviors, making creatures interact more naturally with their surroundings while improving guest immersion through walk-through aviaries and interactive exhibits.

Planet Zoo 2 launches on October 13, 2026 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. With its new animal types, deeper management systems, and expanded creative tools, the sequel aims to deliver the most ambitious zoo-building experience Frontier has created to date.
