Sea of Remnants Opens PC Beta Test Ahead of 2026 Release
NetEase Games and Joker Studio have officially launched the open PC beta for Sea of Remnants, giving players an opportunity to experience the upcoming free-to-play ocean fantasy RPG before its full release. Available through Steam, the beta lets participants explore a large portion of the game's world, test its core gameplay systems, and provide feedback that will help shape future updates. The test marks the biggest public milestone for the project since its original announcement.

Set in the pirate city of Orbtopia, Sea of Remnants blends open-world exploration with turn-based combat on land and real-time naval battles at sea. Players recruit a crew of unique companions, upgrade their ship, discover hidden islands, and make story decisions that influence both the world and future events. The game's distinctive puppet-inspired art style and roguelike progression systems have already attracted attention during earlier preview events.
The beta includes a selection of story missions, character progression, multiplayer features, and large-scale ship battles while allowing the developers to evaluate server stability and gameplay balance. NetEase has encouraged participants to report bugs and share feedback throughout the testing period, with additional adjustments planned before the game's official launch.
Sea of Remnants is scheduled to launch in 2026 for PC, PlayStation 5, iOS, and Android as a free-to-play title. With its open beta now underway, players have their first chance to experience the game's mix of exploration, naval combat, and RPG mechanics while helping the developers refine the final release.
