Moss: The Forgotten Relic Leaves VR Behind — Launch Trailer Reveals Quill's Beautiful Adventure for Everyone
Polyarc has released the official launch trailer for Moss: The Forgotten Relic, celebrating Quill's long-awaited debut beyond virtual reality. For the first time, the beloved adventure series is available as a traditional third-person game on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC, bringing one of VR's highest-rated franchises to a much wider audience.

Rather than creating an entirely new story, Moss: The Forgotten Relic combines the original Moss, Moss: Book II, and the Twilight Garden expansion into one seamless adventure. The release trailer showcases Quill's journey through enchanted forests, ancient ruins, towering castles, and dangerous underground temples, all rebuilt for traditional displays with updated visuals, refined controls, and smoother transitions between chapters.
Despite moving away from VR, Polyarc has preserved the series' signature mechanics. Players still guide Quill through beautifully crafted diorama-like environments while interacting directly with the world to solve environmental puzzles, manipulate objects, and assist the tiny mouse during combat. The studio has redesigned camera systems, controls, and gameplay interactions to ensure the experience feels natural on standard screens without sacrificing the emotional bond between the player and Quill.
Released on July 16, 2026, Moss: The Forgotten Relic marks the franchise's biggest expansion yet, introducing Quill's acclaimed adventure to millions of players who never owned a VR headset. While longtime fans may miss the unique immersion of virtual reality, early impressions suggest the non-VR version successfully preserves the heart, charm, and magical storytelling that made Moss one of the most beloved adventure games of the past decade.
