Mario Tennis Fever Gets a Huge Free Update — Super Mario Galaxy Content, New Court, and GameShare Arrive Today

Nintendo has released a major free update for Mario Tennis Fever, bringing one of the game's biggest content drops since launch. Available now as Version 1.1.0, the update introduces a variety of Super Mario Galaxy-themed features, including a brand-new court, a powerful racket, expanded multiplayer options, and numerous gameplay improvements for Nintendo Switch 2 owners.

The highlight of the update is the addition of Galaxy Court, a spectacular new arena inspired by Super Mario Galaxy. The court features black holes that can unexpectedly pull in tennis balls—or even players—creating unpredictable rallies and completely changing match strategy. Nintendo has also added the new Black Hole Racket, a special Fever Racket that grants players unique abilities during matches. In addition, several new Academy Court variants and extra customization options for Luma characters have been included.

Version 1.1.0 also expands multiplayer with GameShare support through GameChat, allowing friends who don't own the game to join matches online. Players can now compete using either traditional button controls or motion controls, while numerous balance adjustments, gameplay refinements, and quality-of-life improvements have been implemented across the roster. Nintendo has also introduced additional racket selection options, including a Random setting that changes equipment between matches for greater variety.

The free update represents Nintendo's biggest post-launch expansion for Mario Tennis Fever so far. By combining fresh Super Mario Galaxy content with enhanced multiplayer functionality and extensive gameplay improvements, Version 1.1.0 gives both new and returning players plenty of reasons to return to the court. With no additional cost for existing owners, it's one of the most substantial free content updates released for a Nintendo Switch 2 title this year.
