KING Art Games and Deep Silver have released the first extended 1v1 multiplayer gameplay showcase for Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War IV, offering fans their clearest look yet at how the upcoming RTS handles competitive battles. The new Battlefield Report features an intense match between the Space Marines and the Orks, while developers explain the game's key multiplayer mechanics, faction design, and strategic depth.

The 20-minute presentation highlights a return to the classic Dawn of War formula, combining traditional base-building with territory control and large-scale tactical combat. Throughout the match, players compete to capture strategic resource points, expand their bases, unlock advanced technologies, and deploy increasingly powerful units. Unlike many modern RTS titles that focus on rapid rush tactics, Dawn of War IV encourages battlefield positioning, map control, and careful resource management to gain the upper hand.

The showcased battle also demonstrates how differently each faction plays. Space Marines rely on durable elite infantry, orbital support abilities, and disciplined formations, while the Orks overwhelm opponents with massive numbers, aggressive melee assaults, and unpredictable special abilities. Developers confirmed that every faction features unique mechanics designed to create distinct playstyles rather than simple unit variations. At launch, the game will include four playable factions: Space Marines, Orks, Necrons, and the Adeptus Mechanicus, with competitive modes supporting 1v1, 2v2, and 3v3 online matches.

Alongside multiplayer, Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War IV will feature a story campaign spanning more than 70 missions, cooperative play, Skirmish, the returning Last Stand survival mode, and extensive army customization through an upgraded Painter tool. The latest gameplay showcase suggests that KING Art Games is aiming to blend the strategic depth of the original Dawn of War with modern visuals and refined mechanics. Scheduled to launch on September 17, 2026, for PC, the game is shaping up to be one of the year's most anticipated real-time strategy releases.
