Cinder City Developers Quickly Revise PC Requirements After 64GB RAM Backlash

Following widespread criticism over its unusually demanding PC specifications, Big Fire Games has updated the official system requirements for its upcoming open-world shooter Cinder City. Just one day after players questioned the need for 64GB of RAM, the studio reduced the recommended memory requirement to 32GB, acknowledging community concerns while also adjusting other hardware recommendations.

The original Steam listing quickly became a hot topic across gaming communities because it recommended 64GB of system memory—a figure rarely seen even among the most demanding AAA games. Many players argued that the requirement seemed excessive, especially since the game's recommended graphics card was listed as an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060. The unusual hardware combination led to speculation that the requirements were either inaccurate or the result of poor optimization.

In response, the developers updated the Steam page by lowering the recommended RAM from 64GB to 32GB, bringing it more in line with modern high-end PC titles. However, the revised specifications also increased the recommended graphics card from an RTX 4060 to an RTX 4070, suggesting that the team is still refining its performance targets as development continues. The minimum memory requirement remains 32GB, indicating that Cinder City is still expected to be a demanding game despite the revision.

Developed by Big Fire Games and published by NC, Cinder City is an open-world cooperative third-person shooter set in a dystopian version of Seoul. Players take control of elite Cinder Knights as they battle mutant creatures and hostile factions across a large, persistent world. Although the game's ambitious visuals and large-scale environments may justify higher hardware requirements, the rapid update demonstrates that the developers are actively listening to community feedback ahead of release. With no launch date announced yet, there is still plenty of time for additional optimization before Cinder City reaches PC players.
