Relic Entertainment has officially unveiled Company of Heroes 3: Final Stand, a brand-new standalone roguelite strategy game that reimagines the legendary RTS series with a fast-paced wave defense format. Unlike traditional Company of Heroes campaigns, the new title focuses on surviving increasingly difficult enemy assaults through a blend of tactical combat, persistent progression, and cooperative gameplay. Best of all, players do not need to own Company of Heroes 3 to play the new release. The game launches for PC via Steam on July 29, 2026.

In Final Stand, players command one of four iconic factions—the US Forces, Wehrmacht, British Forces, or Deutsches Afrikakorps—while defending strategic positions against 12 escalating waves of enemies. Each run introduces randomized upgrades, allowing players to build unique battlegroups by unlocking new units, commander abilities, and powerful perks. Between matches, permanent progression trees provide faction-specific upgrades, encouraging experimentation and long-term replayability.

The standalone experience also introduces a variety of new challenges, including 36 boss units, 18 dynamic battlefield events, five dedicated wave-defense maps, eight difficulty levels, and an Endless Mode for players seeking the ultimate survival test. Designed for both solo play and two-player online co-op, Final Stand combines the tactical depth of the original series with roguelite mechanics inspired by Relic's previous survival modes such as Dawn of War II: The Last Stand.

According to Relic Entertainment, Company of Heroes 3: Final Stand is intended to offer a more accessible way for newcomers to experience the franchise while giving longtime fans a fresh, highly replayable challenge. Priced at $29.99, the standalone title will also offer a launch discount, with existing Company of Heroes 3 owners receiving an additional loyalty discount. By blending classic real-time strategy gameplay with modern roguelite progression, Final Stand represents one of the franchise's boldest experiments to date and arrives as part of the series' 20th anniversary celebration.
