Shadow of the Tomb Raider Is Leaving Xbox Game Pass This July

Shadow of the Tomb Raider will soon be removed from Xbox Game Pass, marking the end of Lara Croft's Survivor Trilogy on Microsoft's subscription service. According to the latest "Leaving Soon" announcement, the game will exit the library on July 15, 2026, alongside several other titles, giving subscribers only a limited time to complete the adventure or purchase it at a discount before it disappears.

The departure is particularly significant because the previous two entries in the trilogy—Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition and Rise of the Tomb Raider—already left Xbox Game Pass at the end of June. With Shadow of the Tomb Raider now scheduled to follow, the entire reboot trilogy will no longer be available through the service. Microsoft traditionally offers Game Pass members a discount of up to 20% on departing games, allowing players to keep them permanently if they wish.

Released in 2018, Shadow of the Tomb Raider concludes Lara Croft's origin story, following her race to stop a Maya apocalypse after triggering a devastating chain of events. Developed by Eidos-Montréal, the action-adventure combines cinematic storytelling with exploration, stealth, environmental puzzles, and challenging tombs. The Definitive Edition also includes all previously released downloadable content, making it the most complete version of the game.

The removal is part of Microsoft's regular Game Pass rotation, which sees older titles leave the service to make room for new additions. Alongside Shadow of the Tomb Raider, several other games—including PowerWash Simulator, Golf With Your Friends, EA Sports FC 24, and Stellaris: Console Edition—are also scheduled to leave on July 15. Players hoping to finish Lara Croft's final adventure through Game Pass should do so before the deadline or take advantage of the subscriber discount to keep the game in their permanent library.
