The fan-made native PC port of Silent Hill: Downpour has received a brand-new trailer, highlighting the project's latest progress while showcasing restored content that was originally cut from the game before release. Developed by a single creator known as Indie_RU, the project aims to bring the 2012 survival horror title to PC as a native application rather than relying on traditional console emulation.

The new trailer demonstrates several restored features that never appeared in the retail version, including unused locations, weapons, quests, enemy encounters, notes, and even an unfinished boss fight. Alongside the restored content, the developer has implemented modern PC features such as 60 FPS gameplay, mouse and keyboard support, a dedicated launcher with graphics settings, and numerous quality-of-life improvements designed to make the experience feel like a proper PC release.

Unlike an emulator, the project uses static recompilation to convert the original Xbox 360 game into a native Windows application. This approach allows the game to run with improved performance while preserving the original gameplay. Recent updates have also introduced safer save backups, additional mouse input options, launcher refinements, and other technical improvements as development moves closer to completion.

Although the project is unofficial and requires players to own the original game data, it has generated significant excitement within the Silent Hill community. The developer says the port is now roughly 90% complete and is targeting a Fall 2026 release. For many fans, it represents the best opportunity yet to experience Silent Hill: Downpour on modern PC hardware with restored content and features that were never included in the original console release.
