A new insider report has shared fresh details about Ubisoft's upcoming Splinter Cell Remake, suggesting the stealth adventure could introduce several modern gameplay improvements while staying true to the original formula. It's important to note that this information has not been officially confirmed by Ubisoft and should be treated as a rumor.

According to the leak, the remake will remain a fully linear experience built on Ubisoft's Snowdrop Engine with support for DirectX 12. Reported features include destructible environments, dynamic light destruction, expanded non-lethal gameplay options, sticky cameras, gas grenades, manual alarms, zip lines, and pipe slides. The classic light and darkness visibility meter is also said to return, preserving one of the franchise's signature stealth mechanics.

The same insider claims the project is currently in a "fragile" stage of development, despite active work continuing at Ubisoft Toronto. If the report proves accurate, the remake could launch sometime between the second and fourth quarters of 2027, although Ubisoft has yet to announce an official release date or reveal gameplay publicly.

Ubisoft originally announced the Splinter Cell Remake in 2021, confirming that the game is being rebuilt from the ground up rather than receiving a simple visual upgrade. Until the publisher shares new official information, fans should consider the latest gameplay details and release window as unverified rumors, even if they align with the studio's previously stated goal of modernizing Sam Fisher's iconic stealth adventure.
