EA Sports College Football 27 is now available worldwide, marking another major release for Electronic Arts' revived college football series. The game launches on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, bringing updated rosters, gameplay improvements, and expanded Dynasty and Road to Glory modes. This year's release also stands out for another reason—it appears to ship without Denuvo anti-tamper protection, a first for a major EA Sports title since the technology was introduced in 2014.

PC players quickly noticed the absence of Denuvo after examining the game's files and executable, with no signs of the DRM solution that has been included in many Electronic Arts releases over the past decade. Although EA has not issued an official statement explaining the decision, the launch build available through the EA App, Steam, and Epic Games Store does not appear to use the protection.

Beyond the DRM discussion, College Football 27 introduces gameplay refinements, improved presentation, and deeper customization options across its core modes. It is also the first game in the franchise to launch on PC alongside consoles, giving a wider audience access to the series after its successful return in 2024. Electronic Arts continues to support all 134 FBS programs while expanding the overall college football experience.

The absence of Denuvo has generated significant discussion within the PC gaming community, especially considering EA's long history of using the technology in its biggest releases. Whether this signals a permanent shift in the publisher's DRM strategy remains unclear, but EA Sports College Football 27 has already attracted attention for reasons that go well beyond the action on the field.
