Blades of Mirage Launches Open Steam Playtest, Giving Players Early Access to Its Isometric Action RPG

Developer Agate and publisher Red Dunes Games have officially launched the open Steam playtest for Blades of Mirage, allowing players to experience the upcoming isometric action RPG ahead of its full release. The playtest runs from July 6 to July 20, 2026, giving fans two weeks to explore the game's combat, progression systems, and world while providing feedback to the development team.

Set in a fantasy world inspired by Southeast Asian mythology, Blades of Mirage follows Mira, a warrior capable of manipulating water to create powerful weapons. During the playtest, players can experiment with three distinct weapon types—the Sword, Hammer, and Bow—while customizing their playstyle through a rune system that unlocks different combat abilities and strategic combinations. The demo also features challenging boss encounters and an end-of-playtest timer that encourages players to improve their completion times.

Beyond its fast-paced combat, the game emphasizes exploration across a series of unique islands filled with ancient ruins, environmental puzzles, and mythical creatures. Players will uncover relics tied to the world's history while battling corrupted guardians using a mix of melee and ranged attacks powered by Mira's water-based abilities. According to the developers, the open test is intended to gather community feedback on gameplay balance, difficulty, and overall player experience before the game's official launch.

Blades of Mirage is currently in development for PC via Steam, with a full release date yet to be announced. Players interested in participating can request access directly through the game's Steam page, where successful applicants will automatically receive the playtest build in their library.
