Report: Xbox May Reconsider Project Helix Strategy Following Backlash Over Sony's Disc Decision

Microsoft is reportedly re-evaluating one of the biggest unanswered questions surrounding its next-generation Xbox Project Helix console after the intense backlash that followed Sony's decision to move away from physical game discs. According to industry reports, the company has not yet finalized whether Project Helix will launch with a built-in disc drive, despite earlier rumors pointing toward a fully digital console.

The renewed discussion comes after Sony's announcement that future PlayStation hardware will focus on digital distribution sparked widespread criticism from players concerned about game ownership, preservation, and the second-hand market.
