MoonHack Announced: Cyber-Noir Adventure Explores a Future Where Even Love Is Illegal

Publisher ASTRA and developer Astro Production have officially announced MoonHack, an emotional cyber-noir adventure set in a dystopian future where artificial intelligence governs every aspect of human life—including emotions and personal relationships. The game is scheduled to launch for PC via Steam in 2027, blending narrative-driven storytelling with rhythm-based gameplay in a world where "loving what you love" is considered a crime.

Set in the year 2125, MoonHack follows a group of young women whose humanity has been deemed illegal by an all-powerful AI-controlled society. Players will infiltrate a digital world where every choice is regulated, using music as a form of hacking to rewrite the rules that dictate people's lives. Rather than relying on conventional combat, the game combines cinematic storytelling with 3D rhythm-action sequences, where songs become powerful tools capable of reshaping reality itself.

The developers describe MoonHack as an emotionally driven adventure that explores themes of freedom, identity, love, and rebellion against a perfectly optimized society. Gameplay alternates between narrative exploration and rhythm-based performances synchronized with vocal music, allowing players to gradually unravel the truth behind an AI system that claims to maximize human happiness while suppressing individuality. The title will support English, Japanese, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese at launch.
