Online: 404 Early Access Delayed by Two Months as Developers Prioritize Quality

The developers behind the upcoming survival adventure Online: 404 have officially announced a two-month delay to the game's Steam Early Access launch. Instead of releasing this summer as originally planned, the ambitious open-world survival title is now scheduled to arrive in late September 2026, giving the small development team more time to polish gameplay and implement community feedback gathered from the recent demo.

According to the developers, the decision was made after carefully reviewing thousands of bug reports and player suggestions submitted during the public demo. The team explained that additional development time will allow them to improve performance, fix technical issues, and refine core mechanics before opening the game to a wider audience. As a result, players can expect a more stable and feature-complete experience when Early Access finally begins.

Online: 404 places players inside a quarantined district where survival depends on realistic resource management rather than traditional crafting systems. Instead of creating tools from blueprints, players are encouraged to repurpose real-world objects, build shelters using scavenged materials, restore abandoned vehicles, and uncover the mystery behind the isolated city. The game also supports both solo play and cooperative multiplayer, making exploration and survival a shared experience.

While delays are rarely welcome news, the developers believe the extra two months will ultimately result in a much stronger launch.
