GTA 6 Could Arrive on Nintendo Switch 2 in 2027, While PC Players Are Still Waiting
Although Grand Theft Auto VI is officially launching on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on November 19, 2026, new reports suggest that Nintendo Switch 2 owners may not have to wait much longer. According to several industry insiders, Rockstar Games is actively working on a Switch 2 version of GTA 6 that could arrive sometime in 2027, while the studio continues to remain silent about a PC release.

The latest rumors claim that Rockstar has overcome several technical challenges related to bringing the massive open-world game to Nintendo's new hardware. Reports also suggest that external studios specializing in Switch 2 ports have joined the project to help optimize the game for the hybrid console. While no official announcement has been made, multiple insiders believe development is progressing well enough for a launch next year.
Meanwhile, PC gamers are still waiting for confirmation. Rockstar has not announced a Windows version of GTA 6, continuing the company's long-standing strategy of releasing its biggest titles on consoles first. Previous games such as Grand Theft Auto V and Red Dead Redemption 2 arrived on PC more than a year after their console debuts, leading many analysts to expect a similar release window for GTA 6. Some industry observers believe the PC version may not arrive until late 2027, although Rockstar has yet to comment on those reports.
For now, the only officially confirmed platforms remain PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, with pre-orders already live ahead of the game's November release. If the latest reports prove accurate, Nintendo Switch 2 could become the next platform to receive GTA 6, while PC players may have to be patient a little longer. Until Rockstar makes an official announcement, however, both the Switch 2 and PC versions should be treated as speculation rather than confirmed releases.
